Job Overview

In collaboration with the Senior Vice President of Brand & Product, the Designer will be instrumental in driving the strategic vision and design direction across categories. They will lead the creation of new innovative products and enhance existing styles by translating market and fashion trends into tangible consumer-centric products. The ideal candidate will possess creativity, innovation, strategic acumen, and an entrepreneurial mindset, coupled with a deep passion for all aspects of the Eberjey brand.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop categories from concept to delivery, conducting market trend research, creating seasonal concepts, producing sketches, garment mockups, specifications, and tech packs.
  • Maintain merchandising structure and flow for each category, ensuring brands design aesthetic and storytelling is maintained throughout design process, creating a cohesive product assortment that is unique and innovative.
  • Build assortment strategies based on historical data, seasonality, function, sku count and AUR.
  • Research, analyze, and propose brand-appropriate trends, concepts, and ideas to maintain a consistent vision.
  • Create & review line sheets, trims, materials and colors and order raw materials and lab dips within lead times
  • Attend and actively participate in fit sessions, review sample garments on and off models, and providing suggestions for modifications to achieve desired effects.
  • Challenge and introduce new and innovative methods of creative execution.
  • Manage design processes to ensure timely delivery, maintaining process flow while adhering to calendars and key milestones.
  • Daily collaboration with Technical teams and Supply Chain organization to deliver key results
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive and accurate tech packs, specs, DRFs, and BOM in partnership with the technical designer via PLM software.
  • Lead the selection of fabric and trims, with a focus on softness, partnering closely with the sourcing team to explore innovative and sustainable materials.

 

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or a related fields
  • 4+ years of experience in Design, with at least 2 years at the Designer level.
  • Advanced proficiency in design and visualization skills, both by hand and using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Technical capacity & skills in design & garment manufacturing. Must be able to understand the line direction, garment construction and cost to support the business and merchandising strategies.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to independently initiate creative ideas from conception to execution.
  • A passion for continuous learning: keeping up to date with emerging trends relating to fabrics, colors, and silhouettes
  • Ability to conduct extensive sourcing, research & analysis in fabrics, trends, trims, colors, shapes, etc. for upcoming collections
  • Keen eye for color, print, and fabric, contributing a distinct point of view and elevated aesthetic.
  • Proven track record in developing cohesive assortments that deliver results. Experience in launching or scaling a category, business, or division is a plus
  • Experience with PLM software is a plus.
