Product Developer - Leather Goods, Footwear and Accessories

This is a full time position based in our London office. Candidates must have a valid right to work in the UK

We are looking for a Product Developer with minimum 5 years experience in Footwear/Leather Goods/Accessories to join our team in London. You will be responsible for the product development of all Footwear, all Bags and Small Leather Goods and some general Jewellery/Eyewear admin tasks, from sketch through to production.

The role:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, design and production teams
• Working very closely with the design team to ensure that the designers vision is well executed and functional
• Liaising with merchandising, production, ecommerce and sales teams
• Negotiate costs and maintaining target costs
• Create tech packs and give comments to suppliers
• Manage and update the Accessories critical path and follow deadlines
• Responsible for ordering and delivering protos and SMS on time
• Technical knowledge of Bags and Footwear
• Research and source new suppliers for Bags, Footwear and Jewellery
• Knowledge of supplier capabilities, materials
• Technical knowledge of processes and constructions for ideally Bags and Footwear
• Seasonal material research and development
• General admin

The candidate:

• Previous experience in a similar Accessories PD role is essential, ideally with Footwear, Bags and Accessories, however this can be flexible to more specialised experience
• Skills in interpreting a designers vision
• Experience in keeping strong relationships with suppliers
• Enthusiastic and passionate
• Excellent communication skills
• Really organised and pre-emptive of tasks
• Self-motivated and comfortable multi-tasking
• Solutions orientated
• Confident identifying any risks or challenges that come up at all stages, and making recommendations for solutions
• Proactive and a team player
• Knowledge of Office package, Adobe and Zedonk systems
• Knowledge of Italian language is desirable but not essential
