Fabric Technologist / Sourcing Specialist (m/f/x)

Carhartt WIP is part of the WIP Trading AG. Our family-owned business group started as a licensee and European distributor of the US workwear manufacturer Carhartt in the early 1990s. Since then, it develops its own collections based on workwear originals.

Carhartt Work In Progress aims to continuously progress and evolve, without ever losing sight of its origins. Over the course of the past two decades, our business has developed organically, along with its customers, the culture that surrounds the brand, and its employees who have helped shape what Carhartt WIP is today.

We are looking for you to join our headquarter in Basel as soon as possible as Fabric Technologist / Sourcing Specialist (m/f/x).

Your Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with suppliers to produce appropriate materials requested by our brand
• Evaluate the suitability of fabrics mills based on performance, costs and sustainability
• Work closely with designers to understand fabric requirements for specific products
• Provide technical guidance to ensure the feasibility of design concepts
• Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements
• Maintain detailed records of fabric specifications, test results, and supplier information
• Ensure price negotiations with fabric factories

Your Profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Textile Engineering, Material Science, or a related field
• Attention to details and good product sensibility
• Extensive knowledge of textile materials, manufacturing processes, and testing methods
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with industry trends and sustainability practices
• Well organized and hands-on working attitude with a flexible and open mind for new solutions
• Fluent in English and French, German is a plus (every further language is warmly welcomed)
