Role Mission The North Europe Merchandising Manager (Retail), reporting directly to the General Manager of the Hub and with dotted line to the EMEA GMM, will lead the Department by both implementing the Regional Merchandising strategy championing Northern Europe clients ‘needs & voices' across all categories to drive sales and improve the Hubs business performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • To know the market, specificity of each store and give granular constructive feedback to the Regional Buying Team during the buying campaigns & be responsible for local sizing strategy
  • Provide pre-buy qualitative feedback as well as client insight at store level, responsible for cascading the strategy post buy to the Retail Network partnering with the Training team
  • Work closely with the Marcomm team aligning on the local activation calendar and ‘key moments' in the hub
  • To spend the majority of time in stores understanding product / store performance and qualitative feedback. Be action orientated with a focus on creating opportunities to drive sales performance keeping a keen eye on the competitor landscape
  • Constant exchange with VM and Retail to propose actions that will drive the business (VM change, stock support, training, gaining quality client feedback etc.) Review weekly stock rebalancing in line with the distribution strategy
  • People Management of Hub Local Merchandisers coaching & developing the team


Key Requirements

  • At least 8-10 years of international experience in a similar role within fashion retail companies as Retail Buyer/Merchandising Manager managing & coaching a small team
  • Strong communicator, confident presenting & manager relationships across varying functions at all levels
  • Represent & maintaining the Gucci image for all the Hub/stores
  • Ability to work across all levels of the business - drive commercial success
  • Proven track record in making decisions & implementing changes to improve business KPIs
  • Understand the macro environment trends and be able to cascade information impactfully
  • Computer literate, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft tools (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English & other languages are a plus
