Job Overview: The Bloomingdale's Business Intelligence department is seeking a Systems Developer to support in the development of financial planning and allocation systems.
The Systems Developer will report to the Director of Reporting and Systems Development and will be part of a team responsible for implementation and support of: Interactive dashboards and reports, Solutions to facilitate corporate initiatives, and End-to-end automated workflows.

Job Overview: The Bloomingdale's Business Intelligence department is seeking a Systems Developer to support in the development of financial planning and allocation systems.
The Systems Developer will report to the Director of Reporting and Systems Development and will be part of a team responsible for implementation and support of: Interactive dashboards and reports, Solutions to facilitate corporate initiatives, and End-to-end automated workflows.
Essential Functions:
- Translate business needs to technical specification
- Must be comfortable collaborating with non-technical business users
- Review, design & implement reporting tools and applications
- Identify system deficiencies or opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes
- Take ownership of reported issues and see problems through to resolution
- Participate in the software development life cycle:
- Review, summarize and communicate changes to existing business practices that are due to new system enhancements or roll-outs
- Act as technical subject matter expert during cross-functional meetings
- Participate in user acceptance testing sessions
- Build and support Planning & Allocation Applications
- Maintenance and support of underlying queries, logic, and data loads
- Perform ad-hoc data research and troubleshooting
- Develop and update technical documentation
Qualifications and Competencies:
We encourage candidates with either a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply
3-5 years related experience
- Expertise in programming/scripting languages (VB, Python)
- Advanced Excel
- Ability to write advanced SQL Queries
- Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages
- Strong proficiency in database technologies (MSSQL, GCP or similar)
- Have programming background in Visual Basic (or similar)
- Background in retail/financial planning and allocation
- Proficiency in Google Cloud and other reporting platforms (Power BI) preferred
- Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
- Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically; strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
Physical Requirements:
- Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
- Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
