Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Create product specs for all allocated styles. Writing clear construction comments, BOM, technical drawings and sampling feedback. Update all information throughout development to production approval ensuring all information is accurate. Informing relevant teams of any updates made. Work closely with Sampling, Design, Pattern cutting and Production teams to prepare accurate and fully resolved factory sampling packs Measure all allocated samples and review in relation to specification. Work with team members to arrange fittings. Prepare samples, ensure model measurements are taken, ensure sample images are taken, document fitting notes. During fittings observe and work with senior members of the team to identify fit and construction amendments, and ensure consistency across the product and size range Update tech packs with comprehensive fit, quality, and construction feedback for factories throughout sampling phase Support factories and in-house machinists to ensure any queries are answered in a clear and timely manner Build and maintain strong relationship with inhouse machinists utilising their input on construction techniques Monitor the line sheet/offer through development to production approval, ensuring that the sample tracker and allocated styles are updated. Ensure collection progress is running in-line with the critical path Conduct seasonal research, analysing design details and construction methods to optimise and elevate Simone Rocha product with emphasis on identifying opportunities for cost engineering to help improve margin Engage problem solving skills to find innovative solutions to achieve design vision in Liaise with Head of sampling and pattern cutters to co-ordinate completion of sample amendments and mock ups required. Source and order components required for sampling Working together with Design Team to identify trims and techniques to be developed seasonally. Source and develop seasonal trims with suppliers Create and update standards manuals
  • In collaboration with senior team members process quality feedback from stores and clients and implement improvement/resolutions
  • Follow the critical path and help to ensure that development deadlines are met, flagging issues early to relevant parties, helping to avoid and resolve problems and communicating changes to the team Monitor stock levels and order studio supplies (haberdashery, stationary, kitchen) as required As required, namely during show time, assist the Head of sampling in organising intern workflow, sample cutting, hand finishings and any other ad hoc tasks

 

Candidate:

 

  • 1 year+ of PD/garment tech experience within the luxury market preferred
  • Strong technical understanding of the luxury market. Experience developing styles across cotton, jersey and tulle
  • Experience developing styles across womenswear and menswear
  • Adobe Illustrator skills
  • Must be a problem solver able to find innovative solutions in line with creative vision
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing
  • Excellent understanding of patterns, garment construction and fit
  • Flexibility required at peak times to manage workload
  • Accustomed to working to tight deadlines and being able to multi task across changing priorities
  • A team player with great interpersonal skills
